Ohio Libertarian Give R's & D's The Third Finger

The Constitution cannot protect us and our freedoms as a self-governing people unless we protect the Constitution. That means zero tolerance at election time for people who circumvent the letter and the spirit of the Constitution. Freedom is too precious to give it up in exchange for brassy words from arrogant elites.

Texas Declares War on the  USA

Barack Obama was in the Oval Office when his telephone rang.

"Hello, President Obama," a heavily accented southern voice said.  "This is Archie, down here at Joes Crab Shack in Houston-Texas,  an' I'm a-callin' to tell yal that we are officially declarin' war on ya'll!"

"Well Archie," Barack replied, "This is indeed important news!  How big is your army?"

"Right now," said Archie, after a moments calculation, "there is me, my cousin Harold, my next-door-neighbor Randy, and the whole dart team from Hooters. That's eight."

Obama paused. "I must tell you Archie, that I have one million men in my army waiting to move on my command."

"Wow," said Archie. "I'll have at call ya back!"

Sure enough, the next day, Archie called again. " Mr. Obama , the war is still on! We have managed to git us some infantry equipment!"

"What equipment would that be Archie?" Barack asked.

"We have two combines, a bulldozer, and Harry's tractor."

President Obama sighed. "I'll tell you Archie, I have 16,000 tanks and 14,000 armored personnel carriers. Also I've increased my army to 1 & 1/2 million since we last spoke."

"Lord have mercy", said Archie, "I'll get back to ya."

Sure enough, Archie rang again the next day. " Ok, war's still on!  We got airborne! We up an' modified  Harolds's ultra-light with a couple of shotguns, and four boys from the Legion joined us, too!"

Barack was silent for a minute, then cleared his throat.  "I must tell you Archie, I have 10,000 bombers and 20,000 fighter planes.  My military complex is surrounded by laser-guided, surface-to-air missile sites. And since we last spoke, I've increased my army to TWO MILLION!"

"Oh Lordy," said Archie, "l'll have at call you back."

Archie called again the next day. " Mr. Prez, we had to call off this here war."

"I'm sorry to hear that," said Barack. "Why the change of heart?"

Well," said Archie, "we sat ourselves down and had a long chat over a 6-pack, and come to see there's just no way we can feed two million prisoners."

The Sheer Nightgown....

A husband walks into Victoria 's Secret to purchase a sheer negligee for his wife. He is shown several possibilities that range from $250 to $500 in price -- the more sheer, the higher the price. Naturally, he opts for the most sheer item, pays the $500, and takes it home. He presents it to his wife and asks her to go upstairs, put it on, and model it for him.

Upstairs the wife thinks (she's no dummy), 'I have an idea. It's so sheer that it might as well be nothing. I won't put it on, but I'll do the modeling naked, return it tomorrow, and keep the $500 refund for myself.'

She appears naked on the balcony and strikes a pose.

The husband says, 'Good Grief! You'd think for $500, they'd at least iron it!'

He never heard the shot.

Funeral on Thursday at Noon.
Closed coffin.

Question For Pete Schulte(D), Texas House 108 Candidate

2010 DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE
TEXAS HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, DISTRICT 108

How Many More Must Die Before Self-Defense

I asked the same question of Dan Branch.

Question For Dr. Elba Garcia

Dr. Garcia Wants To Be
Dallas County Commissioner
Precinct 4

Elba Garcia, please watch this video, then tell the people of Dallas County your ideas on licensing restrictions. Please post it on your web page.

Everyone knows that vocational licensing originated to prevent black, former slaves from working in competition against white, former slave owners.

Dallas County wants to hear from you, Dr. Elba Garcia.

P.S. Really enjoyed your television advert labeling Mayfield a "career politician".
Since we're on the subject, how many terms do you plan to serve ?

"If liberty is worth keeping and free representative government worth saving, we must stand for all American fundamentals—not some, but all. All are woven into the great fabric of our national well-being. We cannot hold fast to some only, and abandon others that, for the moment, we find inconvenient. If one American fundamental is prostrated, others in the end will surely fall."

"It is the paper money created out of thin air that creates the unfair distribution of wealth that is making the middle class fall more behind and the poor more poor. Newly created money and credit in a paper money system benefits those that can access the money first and buy capital goods and real property at one price before the new money circulates and makes all prices go up. Wages also do not keep up with inflation and that creates another squeeze on the
middle class." -- Kenneth Gerbino former chairman of the American Economic Council

"Always remember the difference between economic power and political power: You can refuse to hire someone's services or buy his products in the private sector and go somewhere else instead. In the public sector, though, if you refuse to accept a politician's or bureaucrat's product or services you go to jail. Ultimately, after all, all regulations are observed and all taxes are paid at gunpoint. I believe those few who can't even see that have been short-sighted sheep, and I suggest they learn how to think conceptually, develop consistency and grasp principles soon."

News Flash - Allen Vaught Is A Republican ??!!

I spoke to Allen Vaught Saturday morning 10-23-10
during early voting at

[Tim driving, 555 passenger, enter the parking lot]

Tim:  [referring to a gentleman standing strategically 100' from the poll door, centered to intercept voters walking inside]
Do you know who that is? [excited NOT]

555:                                                     No. Who?

Tim:                          That's State Rep 107 Allen Vaught.
                                             I'm gonna talk to him.

[Tim parks, exits auto and walks towards AV]

AV:                                                     Good morning, sir.
I'd like for you to vote for me,
Allen Vaught, to be your State Representative.

Tim: [stops, stands to talk]
                                            What is your political affiliation?

AV:                                        I'm proud to have a D by my name.

Tim:                                           What is your response to the spending
                                                of the Washington D.C. Democrats?

AV:                                                Sir, I work in Austin.

Tim: thought- "this guy thinks I'm confused.... or he thinks I'm ..... never mind.
Tim:                                            Mr. Vaught, I know where you work.
                                                        That wasn't the question.
Name two... no ... name one
program you would eliminate to cut spending...

AV:                                                    I can't do that on my own.

TL:                                                     Role play with me.
                                                     Pretend you're the Emperor.
If you could hit a button and
                                                     eliminate a Texas government program
which would you choose ? "

AV:                                I would eliminate the Department of Transportation.

T:                                                  You would eliminate the Texas
                                                  Department of Transportation.?

AV:  (backpedaling)                      I didn't say I would eliminate all of it.

Tim:                                                Put that on your web site.
I want to see that on your web
                                                         site tomorrow morning.

AV:  (shaking head slowly"no" for emphasis and speaking softly, as to a child)
Sir, I'm not gonna put that on my web site.

[More small talk as T and 555 walk into the building to vote. AV holds position]

-a few minutes pass-

[T and 555 walk from inside to the parking lot to leave]

AV: [to Tim]                                 Sir, I know you've said you'll never
vote for another Republican or Democrat
but I want to ask you to consider the
                                                                  conservative position.

T: [stopping by AV] [seriously, in an attempt to make progress]
                                          What is the conservative position?

AV: [happily, having achieved his goal of reestablishing dialogue]
                                                 Lower taxes, less spending.
Check the Dallas News voter guide online.
All my positions are clearly defined.

T:                                           Less spending? Only moments ago you
                                                    wouldn't commit to less spending.
                                                By what principles do conservatives
define their stance per issue ?

AV:                                             Principles?  What do you mean?

[more talk blah blah blah you're a dummy, pragmatism is best, get in the real world, blah blah blah]

... and the legislature continued on as before, each individual legislator never changing himself but claiming to have worked towards changing the group.

"Legislators like pork because it helps them get reelected. They are interested in administrative details because long tenure promotes narrow specialization. The constituent service racket allows lawmakers to ignore big problems by fixing small ones. In becoming ombudsman -- glorified errand boys, -- incumbents build up enough good will for most to survive even a watershed year like 1992. By ending congressional careerism, term limits will encourage attention to larger legislative issues. By changing the understanding of the legislator's role, term limits are probably the most effective single reform that can be imposed on Congress. And imposed it will have to be: While great majorities of the American people support term limits, lawmakers oppose them in even larger proportions. With a career Congress, voters face a dilemma: They do not like paying taxes to Washington and hoping to get them back in the form of pork and entitlements, but as long as the system is rigged, it makes sense to vote for the incumbent to maximize your own take. Congressmen face a similar dilemma: Take the easy road to reelection or face the often difficult choices of balancing local and national interests. Take away the career mindset and both representatives and voters can make choices based on the merits of each case. ... In fact, one of the biggest benefits of non-professional legislators is that they would be unlikely to join with the bureaucrats and special interests in blowing smoke at the voters." -- Eric Felton

"It's difficult to view the world outside our human context. Staying alive and paying the bills both require our attention squarely fixed on our own business. Our sprawling cities and suburbs are wonderful and frightening tributes to creative self-absorption. In them, we spend our microscheduled days bustling between work and the endless details of our private lives, turning in our moments of rest to the buzzing distractions of television and computers - all accelerating toward some ultimate, unseen fulfillment of convenience and hyperreality. Little encourages us to pause and look around, much less question the end goal of all our busyness. Anything slower than the quick cuts of TV commercials is overwhelmed by our impatience and short attention. George Will Pens A Note To Obama

I recently replaced this burned out bulb. It's been in the kitchen maybe a year.

When Democrats got control of Congress in 2007 they acted to save the planet from the incandescent light bulb, banning it come 2014.

For sheer annoyingness, that matches Congress's 1973 imposition of a 55 mph speed limit, which was abolished in 1995.

This is the package that the original plus the replacement came from.
Eight years?  Maybe in the White House but he's got rooms he never uses.

Zach Smith on the LP Convention 2012 Venue Vote

LIBERTARIAN PARTY

2012 NATIONAL CONVENTION

Friends,

As many of you know our LNC is currently working on a location for the 2012 National Convention. The 2 contenders are DFW, TX and Las Vegas, NV. As you can imagine I am admittedly for DFW. Not just because I am a native, but looking at the reasons it seems the most logical choice. I have included both my comments to LNC and the report from Doug on the search committee. I would encourage you to look at the info in front of you and then contact the LNC sharing your support. Just like any other elected official they are there to listen to the will of the people. (ME AND YOU!) I have also included their emails!

The Convention Oversight Committee, consisting of myself, James Oaksun, Alicia Mattson and Stewart Flood, has spent an immense number of hours investigating possible venues for our 2012 presidential nominating convention. We were assisted in this process by several other people, including Michael Colley, Vicki Kirkland, Nancy Neale, John Spivey, Dan Wiener and Robert Kraus. We looked at airfares to various cities, hotel costs and amenities, local affiliate strength, and endless minutiae. At the end of the process, we took a vote among the four committee members, and the result was a tie. Two people (myself and Mr. Oaksun) voted in favor of the Hyatt Grand Regency in Dallas, Texas. The other two (Ms. Mattson and Mr. Flood) voted for the Red Rock Resort outside Las Vegas, NV.

Below are my reasons for choosing Texas, which I regard as compelling. This is not an official COC report; it is my own perspective. Those favoring the Red Rock will undoubtedly offer their own observations in the near future.

CENTRAL LOCATION - Dallas is located right in the center of the country. There are non-stop (and low priced) flights to DFW Airport from practically every major US city, and many smaller cities as well. Holding our convention in Dallas equalizes the travel burden on delegates from the Eastern and Western US.

MEDIA COVERAGE - Dallas is the 4th-largest metropolitan area in the USA. It is a major media center; most national news media have reporters in the area. Las Vegas is #30, and except for sports news, generates practically no national news coverage.

LOCAL AFFILIATE STRENGTH - The Texas LP is our second-largest state affiliate, and one of our strongest parties. The Nevada LP is among our smallest, and did not even field a candidate against the notorious Harry Reid this year. In terms of organization and getting things done on-time and efficiently, Texas is a far better bet!

LOWEST HOTEL ROOM RATE - We can get a block of rooms for the weekend before Memorial Day for only $99/night. This is the best rate we were able to find at a "nice" hotel anywhere we looked. And the Hyatt Regency is a nice hotel; check their website - http://www.dallasregency.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp?null It's not as new or luxurious as the Red Rock, but it's nice. IT also offers more nearby, off-site dining opportunities.

To the Distinguished Chair of the Libertarian Party,It's Officers, Representatives and Alternates,

I am writing you today to encourage you to vote FOR DFW, Texas hosting the 2012 National Convention. All bias aside, as a native Texan, from the report I read, DFW is the strongest choice. Central Location, Media Coverage, Local Affiliate Strength and Lowest Hotel rates were all listed as great reasons for hosting in DFW. The quad, Dallas County/Tarrant County/Collin County/Denton County, are some of the strongest parties in Texas. There are many Libertarians here, like myself, that are committed to facilitating a strong, successful convention in 2012. Again, I hope you will vote FOR a DFW, Texas 2012 National Convention!

For Liberty,

The Weekly Reader

The Weekly Reader was better than anything.  My teacher would drop these on our desks and keep us quiet for 10, 20 minutes, 'cept for Irvin who wouldn't read anything.

Below is a quick review of the
Weekly Reader
Encyclopedia of Knowledge

Acid Rain - You are going to die because of industrial production.  All the planet's water is so polluted that raindrops sear human skin, destroy waterways and kill fish, leading to the death of bears, ultimately ending up with the planet being destroyed in a cataclysmic riot of humans, each fighting to consume the last teaspoon of potable water.

Air pollution - Our atmosphere (which we must share with Poland) is becoming clogged with so many microscopic particles that in only a few short decades each human will shortly after birth undergo surgery to install a filtered air breathing tube through the neck into the trachea.  Every living American will spend the rest of his days tied to our limited / recycled / refiltered breathable air supply that will be controlled by elected officials in Washington D.C.  Warning - Canadian air is too cold for Americans to safely breath and Mexican air smells like Pancho's Mexican Buffet.

Central American Communists - The dominoes are falling and the communists will soon take over Mexico soon to marching across the playground of Vivian Fowler Elementary.  Jane Fonda will be leading the way.

Chinese Aggression - They march in parades not to see who has the prettiest Christmas Queen but to see who has the biggest missile.  Overcompensating, gun-totin' reds.

Communism Domino Theory - If he's small with dark skin, eats rice with fish and has a hot sister he must be a communist or at least a communist sympathizer like that big hairy hippie eating the Big Mac.

Flooding - don't worry about it - Although White Oak Creek floods every time it rains and the Sulphur River floods yearly, the worse that can happen in MP is the sewage system being overwhelmed by the rain.

French Communists - Not to worry, have some wine.

Global Cooling - Yeah right, Weak Reader.  Never spent a summer in North East Texas have you ?

Honey Bee Extinction - No more bees, no more honey. Take heart though, you will still be able to buy Honeycomb.

Ice - The Ultimate Disaster

Land Pollution - Always pick up trash in the yard, also from the gutter if you're mowing the lawn that day and from Grandpa's cow pasture.  Just toss those feed bags and hay bale strings into the gully with those old bottles.  Eventually, Old Joe the mule will have to plow again so that we can eat but the dirt won't grow anything.  Grandpa poisoned with arsenic back in the Depression (1929+) so we're all gonna get sick and die from cucumbers.

Nuclear War - Devastates America with radiation when the communists in Russia / Soviet Union first-strike and they will because they hate us for not letting them put missiles in Cuba and because we insist on being paid for grain even though they're having trouble with their wheat crop because of acid rain from Chicago and the pollution in the Great Lakes.

Nuclear Winter - Lasts for decades.. Always follows Nuclear War which it will surely be necessary for America to start if the Soviets don't start it first. People will be living in caves or in the fallout shelters that your parents would dig in the backyard if they were responsible citizens. If America doesn't build enough nuclear weapons to scare the commies, Nuclear Winter is the result.

Overpopulation - So many babies are being born that the farmer of tomorrow, except those living in Epcot Center, will be unable to keep up with the demand for food.  The Soviet Union will probably launch nuclear weapons in the effort to steal America's food supply but the President will protect you if you follow Disaster Protocol by filing calmly out of the classroom, forming a neat line facing the hallway lockers, kneeling down and covering your head with your hands.

Toxic Waste - Damned if you do, Damned if you don't.  Humanities energy supply will soon dwindle into nothingness. Not even light will escape. We can get enough energy from nuclear power but the nuclear energy plants are going to kill us all - Not the plants in Russia, France, or Springfield but the plants being planned by evil Americans.  Those thin metal drums of green, glowing waste have already been dumped into harbors and it's only a matter of time before rust cuts a few holes and the oceans become a boiling soup of radioactive great white sharks that can walk on land.

Vietnam War - Will never end in my lifetime plus I'll be drafted on my 18th birthday.  It's all Nixon's fault.

Water pollution - see Acid Rain (be sure to warn Grandma if the minnow pool has bubbles near the edge because this is a sure sign that the steel mill's of Pennsylvania are causing trouble in Texas.)

Killer Bees - These insects will inevitably invade North America and the USA because Mexican scientists weren't smart enough to stop them at the border.  The queen killer bee will be the first insect president.  All hail the great Kate Jackson.

Fresh Water Extinction - Acid rain combined with the sinkholes from dried up aquifers will force man to tow slowly melting icebergs to Galveston so the football team will have enough water for the turf at Sam Parker Field which is why the new Sam Parker has artificial turf.
